Do you have any questions?
What are the advantages of Prospan®?
Prospan® is versatile. You can use Prospan® not only for acute forms of cough, but also as an adjunct to therapy for chronic inflammatory bronchial diseases with cough.
Furthermore, Prospan® cough syrup is very well tolerated. It can even be taken by infants (consult your doctor for infants under one year of age).
Another advantage of Prospan® is the wide range of products available: there is a suitable solution for every age group and a wide variety of needs. Find the right dosage form for you here.
Can I get Prospan® without a prescription?
Yes, all Prospan® products are available without a prescription. This means you can get Prospan® without a prescription at your pharmacy.
Is Prospan® reimbursable?
Prospan® products are not prescription-only, which means they are available at pharmacies without a prescription. However, they can also be recommended on a green prescription, especially for adults:
Statutory health insurance companies have the option of reimbursing the costs of non-prescription medicines that are only available from pharmacies. Some health insurance companies therefore reimburse Prospan®, depending on their statutory benefits. In addition, as a patient, you can claim necessary health expenses in your tax return in individual cases, depending on your income limit. The green prescription and the pharmacy receipt can be used to document private medication expenses. Therefore, when your doctor recommends non-prescription medicines such as Prospan®, ask them to write the prescription on the green prescription form. Here you will find an overview of health insurance companies that reimburse over-the-counter medicines and a sample letter for requesting reimbursement that you can print out.
